NDIS Counselling

Caring counselling for NDIS participants who are self managed or plan managed.

I offer warm, safe online counselling to adults across Australia who live with disability, including neurodivergent people and people with a psychosocial disability.

NDIS Counselling may be right for you if you:

  • Live with disability and want help with the emotional side of everyday life.

  • Are autistic, ADHD, or otherwise neurodivergent and want a counsellor who works in a neurodiversity affirming way.

  • Have a psychosocial disability and want support with anxiety, low mood, isolation or coping.

  • Feel worn out from masking, sensory overload or burnout.

  • Are adjusting to a diagnosis, a big life change, or a new stage of independence.

  • Have felt misunderstood by past services and want something that fits how you communicate.

You do not need to fit neatly into any of these. If you are unsure, the free call is a good place to start.

Welcome to A New Chapter. I am glad you are here.

My name is Corene, and I am a registered counsellor and psychotherapist.

My approach is neurodiversity affirming and trauma informed. I see neurodivergence as a natural difference and work with your brain rather than against it. We go at your pace, pay attention to your nervous system, and build in whatever helps you feel safe and settled.

My clients tell me I am genuine, caring, patient and a great listener.

NDIS online counselling

What NDIS counselling can help with

People come to me for NDIS counselling for many reasons.

Common ones include easing anxiety, low mood and stress, learning to recognise and settle strong emotions, working through grief, trauma or past hurt, building self worth and self advocacy, easing loneliness and building connection, and finding steadier routines and coping tools for everyday life.

We shape the work around the goals in your NDIS plan, so the support links back to what your plan is there to grow. That keeps counselling meaningful for you, and clear for your plan manager or planner.

How online NIS counselling works

I work online by secure video, which suits many neurodivergent and disabled people well.

You join from your own space, with your own comforts around you, and without the cost or strain of travel. All you need is a private spot and a stable connection.

Online sessions can be just as helpful as meeting in person, and for many people they feel easier.

How a session runs is up to you. You are welcome to keep your camera off, take breaks, stim, fidget, or move around while we talk.

We can use clear, direct language, talk through what is coming so there are no surprises, and send a short written summary afterwards if that helps you remember. If something is not working for you, I always invite you to tell me and we will change it.

Fees

NDIS counselling sessions run for 60 minutes. I charge in line with the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits, at the set rate for counselling under Improved Daily Living.

For plan managed clients I bill your plan manager directly at this rate.

For self managed clients I provide an invoice you can claim or pay from your funding.

Where your plan allows and we agree it in advance, I can also claim for related work such as writing a short report for a plan review. If you need to cancel, please give at least two clear business days notice where you can, since short notice cancellations may be charged under NDIS rules.

How NDIS funding works

If you are self managed or plan managed, you can choose to work with me even though I am an unregistered NDIS provider.

Counselling is usually funded under your Capacity Building budget, in the Improved Daily Living category, when it links to the goals in your plan.

If you are plan managed, I send my invoice to your plan manager, who pays me from your budget.

If you are self managed, I invoice you, and you claim it back or pay me from your funding directly.

If you are agency managed, or you are not sure whether counselling sits in your plan, we can talk it through on the free call. Your support coordinator or plan manager can also help you check.
